Today is a very sad day for freedom of expression. A very sad day for many families.
I’m sorry, I wanted to write something longer but I also lost some friends in this barbarian attack. I really can’t understand how could it happens because of the high terrorism alert in the country. How could it happens in the centre of Paris. As French journalists we know to be in danger, especially if working in geopolitics. Our friends of Charlie Hebdo received many treats but they were very brave. They still are because some of them could survive to this coward attack.
Life of a journalist has the same value of every life but this is a message against freedom.
In 2012 Stéphane Charbonnier said “I prefer to die standing than to live on my knees”. He did.
