JR exhibits freely in the streets of the world, catching the attention of people who are not typical museum visitors thanks to his technique of photographic collage.
His work mixes art and action and talks about commitment, freedom and tolerance.
From 22nd April 2014 the worksite hoardings installed around the Pantheon will be used to present a contemporary artisitc venture: the project Inside Out by JR.
The concept he has created for this project, is to collect individual portraits from all over the world on a dedicated website – www.au-pantheon.fr/en
The portraits will aslo be collected in France at 8 national monuments by JR’s itinerant photo booth truck.
The portraits that seem best to represent the diversity of the modern world will be selected to compose a mosaic which will be visible on the outside.
