Ancora un’analisi a firma di Carisa Frisby sul colonnello Muammar Gheddafi, capo di Stato della Libia, che ha perso il controllo e nel suo discorso di Martedì ha accusato gli Stati Uniti e Gran Bretagna di cercare di destabilizzare la Libia.
L’uomo che nel 1970 ordinò l’espulsione degli italiani per arrivare al 2008, quando Silvio Berlusconi e Muammar Gheddafi hanno firmato un trattato di cooperazione. Il ricatto all’Italia grazie al quale deve pagare 5 miliardi dollari alla Libia per compensare la sua precedente occupazione militare e in cambio la Libia avrebbe preso provvedimenti per fermare l’immigrazione clandestina e agevolato gli investimenti delle aziende italiane. La farsa alla quale si è prestato Berlusconi nel mese di agosto 2010 durante una visita di due giorni in Italia di Gheddafi e la cessione al dittatore delle azioni dell’Unicredit, una delle più grandi banche d’Italia.
Gheddafi,m scrive la Frisby, ha trasformato la Libia in un paradiso per i radicali anti-occidentali, garantendo assistenza finanziaria e armi a quanti si impegnano a combattere l’imperialismo.
Il paradosso è che Gheddafi ha ricevuto l’ addestramento militare in Grecia e nel Regno Unito.
Gheddafi sta facendo tutto il possibile per mantenere il potere, anche a rischio di perdere tutti i suoi sostenitori.
Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, head of state of Libya lost control of Benghazi on Tuesday, the second largest city in Libya. In spite of that he refuses to resign after protesters called on him to do so, calling them “cockroaches” and accusing them of “working for the devil”. In his speech on Tuesday he accused the United States and Great Britain of trying to destabilize Libya. It seems he is doing that on his own without any outside help.
Several high ranking officials of Gaddafi’s regime have stepped down and Libya’s ambassadors to the Arab League, United States, and the U.N. Security council have also resigned. Could this be the start of Gaddafi’s people seeing what everyone else has been saying? The man is evil and insane.
In 1970 Gaddafi ordered the expulsion of Italians causing the Italian population in Italy to all but disappear. In 2008 Silvio Berlusconi and Muammar Gaddafi signed a cooperation treaty. Italy was to pay $5 billion to Libya to compensate for its former military occupation. In return Libya would take measures to stop illegal immigration coming from its shores and boost investments in Italian companies. In August 2010 during a 2 day visit to Italy, Gaddafi offended his hosts by suggesting they and all of Europe converts to Islam. He paid a modeling agency to allow him to speak to 200 women, choosing discuss converting to Islam and he then proceeded to give them a copy of the Qur’an. He is still benefiting from Italians by holding shares in Unicredit, one of Italy’s largest banks.
Gaddafi has turned Libya into a haven for anti-Western radicals. Supposedly anyone can get financial assistance and weapons as long as they are claiming to fight imperialism. Another irony is that Gaddafi received his military training in Greece and The United Kingdom and the United States government felt he was “anti-Marxist” and worth protecting. Now he is against those who have helped him.
Claiming that he will die as a martyr before he resigns, Gaddafi is doing everything he can to maintain his rule, even at the risk of losing all of his support. If Gaddafi wants to be a martyr, he should do the world a favor and get the deed done sooner rather than later.
